The reverse displays a portrait of Cuauhtemoc, the final Aztec emperor who ruled from 1520 to 1521 during the fall of Tenochtitlan. The Aztec Calendar assigned unique name and number identifications to every year and day, along with governing deities for each period, representing an advanced understanding of astronomy, mathematics, and spirituality.
